Young Egyptian star Abeer Sabri, who recently quitted acting wearing the headscarf, has refused the request of director Fahmi Sharqawi to shoot the last two scenes of his TV drama "Al Ustath Na'am Did al Asatitha La" (Yes Teacher Opposite No Teachers), according to Asharq al Awsat newspaper.
"I'm not going to take off my headscarf under any circumstances. My quittance decision is final, and the director can do without the two scenes he's asking me to shoot," Sabri has told the London-based newspaper.
For his part, director Sharqawi has threatened Sabri of sending a memo to the legal affairs at the Egyptian TV if the actress refuses to shoot the two-hour scenes the director is asking her to do.
Sabri was also supposed to costar in Fahmi al Sharqawi's movie "Fallah Fi al Congress" (Farmer in the Congress) in July, but also refused shortly after her quittance. "Fallah Fi al Congress", written by Sherif Abdel Azim, marks Sharkawi's film direction debut.
Also starring Shaaban Abdel Rehim and Alaa Murcy, the movie addresses the topic that everybody plays on the same arena. It depicts the oppressor and the oppressed, the deceiver and the deceived through a man living in a countryside village who is unfairly accused of theft and hiding the stolen items inside the village council headquarters. –Albawaba.com
