There’s a little bit of something for everyone on the menu this weekend with laugh-a-minute comedy gigs, cultural festivals, pop icons and mind-bending illusion. Here are seven of our favourites.

Prepare to be mesmerised

Back by popular demand, The Illusionists Live in Dubai heads to the city, this time with a seven-strong line-up of talented performers. You’ll be thrilled by a never-before-seen illusory experience with levitation, escapology and disappearing acts a taste of things to come on the night. Get ready to have your mind blown.

Meet Mother Russia at City Walk

The third edition of the family-friendly City Walk Matryoshka Festival sees this popular shopping district transformed into an enchanting Russian wonderland. With live performances by singer Nikolai Baskov and prima ballerinas from St Petersburg’s legendary Mariinsky Theatre, this is sure to be a treat for all. What else is on offer? Pop-up fashion stores, a traditional market, tasty goodies from the motherland and a chance for football fans to win a trip to the FIFA World Cup 2018.

Get your al fresco groove on

The great outdoors beckons one last time as Emirates Golf Club hosts the closing event for the sixth season of Groove On The Grass with a full line-up of iconic artists. Check out uplifting sets from German DJ Apparat and Maribou State from the UK, plus live music from Max Cooper and HVOB on the massive stage.

Listen to a Lebanese pop icon

Fans of Lebanese musical trendsetter Nawal Al Zoghbi will flock to Dragon Mart 2 on Friday as the iconic singer belts out top hits from her three decade-long career repertoire. Selling over 40 million albums to date, sway to the sound of classics such as ‘Ayza El Radd’ through to her most recent release, ‘Alou’.

Chuckle along with a comedic CEO

Get ready for side-splitting humour with Atul Khatri, one of India’s most successful stand-up comedians live at Dubai College. Swapping the life of a big cheese CEO for the world of comedy at age 43, Khatri has since performed all over the world from San Francisco to Hong Kong and is probably the funniest former chief operating offer you’ll ever meet.

Put your best foot forward

Lace up your sneakers and hit the ground running at the first in a quarterly series of family health events with a 2.5km or 5km Cigna Park Run at Zabeel Park. Open to joggers, runners and sprinters of all abilities, this community-centric morning in the park will be filled with activities and surprises galore.

Sing along to a Monty Python classic

Dubai Opera welcomes a UK pop culture classic to its stunning auditorium as Monty Python’s Spamalot hits the stage at Dubai Opera. Based on the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail and with original songs written by Eric Idle, this Tony award-winning production tells the story of King Arthur and his knights. Audiences can expect an evening of laughter and music, with songs including Always Look on the Bright Side of Life and Knights of the Round Table.
