‘Zaman al Wasl’, Arab Historical Joint Series

The shooting of a new historical series that belongs to the immense production series began early this month. Zaman al Wasl: Andalusian Tale is the title of the new series in which a large number of Syrian, Qatari and Jordanian stars participate. 

The TV 30- episode series is directed by the Syrian renowned director Aref al Tawil in his debut behind the camera, scripted by Jamal Abu Hamdan and produced by the Arab Center in Jordan in collaboration with Qatar TV. 

The series will be shot in Syria, Morocco and Spain. 

Participating in this massive production is a large number of performers including 80 leading stars and 110 support actors and actresses. From Syria Muna Wasef, Asaad Feddah, Najah Safkouni, Laila al Atrash and Radhwan Akili take part in the series.  

From Qatar Naser Abdel Ridha will participate while Hisham Heneidi, Yaser al Masri and Abdel Karim al Kawsmi from Jordan will play roles in the series. 

The series, which belongs to the historic genre, explores the era of al Hakam bin Hisham and Abdel Rahman bin al Hakam, grandson of Abdel Rahman al Dakhel (Quraish Eagle). It sheds light on the flourishing Islamic and Umawiyyah era of Islam in Spain. This era was characterized with the spread of art, science and religious tolerance.  

The series shows also that the collapse of the Islamic regime in Spain began when the people’s unity there was undermined. In addition it tackles the mot prominent scientists during that period -- Albawaba.com
