The new Egyptian play Young Widow, based on a work by the Italian writer Aldo Digindati, will be performed at the National Theater after the staging of the play Oedipus the King, according to the daily Al Gomhuria.
Al Armala Al Shabba tackles the issue of how a human being can live while being perceived by others as dead. It shows how a person lives with this difficult feeling through the character Adrian, who is buried alive after an eating binge that leaves him on the ground. He gets up from his grave and tries to convince the graveyard guard that he is not dead.
When Adrian returns to his wife, he discovers that his insurance company has contacted his heirs to pay them the value of the insurance policy, and discovers an old friend who loved his wife before he married her.
Events subsequently reach a climax, but Adrian in the end prefers the grave as a home rather than the false world of the living and their hypocrisy – Albawaba.com
