The Moroccan director Abdel Rahman Malin will screen next Thursday his documentary film Nidaa al Tahrir (Liberation Call) for the first time at Mohammed V Theater in Rabat.
The film chronicles a period of time that witnessed the Moroccan resistance to the French occupation including the exile of the late Moroccan King Mohammed V and securing independence in 1956.
“The film basically targets the Moroccan youths and provides them with important information about the national movements. The film’s screening time is 40 minutes and has been wrapped up in collaboration with the Resistance Commission, Liberation Army members and the Moroccan Cinema Center,” Malin told the London based Arabic daily al Sharq al Awsat.
According to Malin, the film was shot in a cinematic way and by blending between archives and testimonies of some figures who lived during that period. This is in addition to the drama content which some actors performed including Mohammed Khoubi, Nouriddin Ziwal, Mohammed al Mutawakkel, Mohammed Taleb and Edris al Roukh.
The film will be screened by the Moroccan satellite channel at a later date.
However, Abdel Rahman Malin directed two films on the Moroccan resistance before including Safahat Khalidah (Eternal Pages) and Akher Talka (Last Bullet) -- Albawaba.com
