Syria has entered the industry of cartoon films with a political purposeful film that depicts the crimes and atrocities of the Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. The film has won an appreciation certificate at Teheran International TV Festival, which has recently been held.
The film is entitled al Burom wa al Taghiyah (Blossom and Despot) and produced by the state owned Radio and TV corporation. It was scripted and directed by Firas Dehni with pictures designed by Muwaffaq Qat.
The film’s director told the Kuwaiti News Agency (KUNA), “ the film depicts criminal Sharon leading a number of trucks which stop to see a cement mix for erecting a statue base on top of a blossom. After a while he discovers the statue being shaken and destroyed while the blossom continues growth until it becomes a full rose.”
He added, “the film highlights the attempts by Sharon to kill the land and everything beautiful on it and smudge nature by poring cement on fertile land and a small blossom which resists until it becomes a salvation rose. All of this represents protest against the Zionist terrorist crimes against children, women, and young men in the occupied land.”
According to the director, the film addresses people in the west in the first place in order to make them understand what is going on and understand the Arabs’ point of view so that they will not be the victims of the Zionist media illusion.
This is the second film of its type to be directed by Dehni after his film Ankithu al Tufoolah (Save the Childhood) which also depicts Sharon while crushing flowers symbolizing people in the film but flowers reproduce in the end and impose a siege on him -- Albawaba.com
