Students brainstorming on environment

Over 130 Emirati students took part in a challenge to create projects encouraging local communities in the UAE to work together to save and preserve the environment. The project is part of the new PRO GEN Initiative ‘to protect future generations’ supported by leading brands such as Ariel, Pampers, Fairy, Tide, Always, Duracell and Downy. Company volunteers from these brands supported the initiative and donated time and expertise to work with students to encourage these young UAE entrepreneurs to consider the environmental impact of their actions.

The winning team created a gallery at their school of art and toys made out of recycled materials called ‘Environment is my Life’, encouraging people to think about caring for the environment as fun and beautiful. Students presented ideas, which ranged from accessories such as bags and clothing made out of recyclable materials to an awareness campaign on electricity usage in the UAE through social media and in-school education programs.
