Mezlai restaurant in Emirates Palace Hotel, the first 5 star Emirati restaurant in the UAE, famous for its local cuisine, announced the opening of a family brunch every Friday.

Starting on June 17th 2011, the restaurant offers a special day for families to come and enjoy UAE’s most famous local cuisine under the supervision of Chef Ali Salem Musbeh Al Badawi, the first Emirati chef in the UAE

Guests are guaranteed a delightful experience with famous local dishes and an exquisite seafood menu, in an atmosphere of luxury and tradition, enjoying the wonderful unique heritage of UAE.

Under the management of the Palace, Mezlai has been opened to be the first Emirati restaurant located in one of the most luxurious hotels in the world

Chef Ali Salem said “Friday is a family day and we would like to give all families the joy to visit and eat at our restaurant”

“Mezlai restaurant specializes in local flavors such as Harees, Majboos of all kinds and grilled ostrich and camel meat, rabbits, local sheep and more.”

The restaurant also offers meals such as Weld El-Walad soup, containing young sharks, Al-Jashid and Al-Maleh, calamari and shrimp along with saffron rice and pita bread.

He said the list of local food items is long and reflects the aspect of UAE’s heritage and true identity.

Chef Ali Salem also said that Mezlai, the latest added restaurant, enjoys a quality of hospitality in Abu Dhabi, hoping to share his unique local food with the world.

He also succeeded in training the restaurant's multi-national staff, in order to master the preparation of UAE’s special cuisine menu.

The restaurant’s decor mainly focuses on the local heritage theme, to keep pace with a unique atmosphere, enjoyed by a luxurious location in one of the most famous hotels in the world.

Emirates Palace’s sales team, on this occasion, organized a series of visits to the local UAE market announcing the start of the Emirati seafood brunch at Mezlai which will take place every Friday from 2 pm till 5 pm.
