Emirates Aviation College began its spring semester yesterday with approximately 1300 returning and new students.
The students will be studying one of the many programmes offered by the college including: Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aviation Management, Business Management, Tourism Management, Computing Software Engineering and Electronics Engineering. In addition, this spring the college will offer the newest programme, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, officially approved by the UAE Civil Aviation Authority.
In May 2011, the college will receive students for MBA programmes in Aviation Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and IT Management. Launched in 2008, the MBA programmes have been well-received and widely sought-after by professionals looking to upgrade their skill sets with more than 50 graduating from the programmes since inception.
“With the ever-expanding Emirates Aviation College curriculum, we are looking forward to 2011 as the college continues to welcome students from around the world and works to strengthen its ties with the aviation community,” said Dr.Ahmad al Ali, Vice - Chancellor of Emirates Aviation College.
Established in 1991 to provide private aviation-related training, Emirates Aviation College has since expanded to provide a full range of educational opportunities. In 2001 the college became the academic wing of the Emirates Group and provides career programmes for the Aerospace, Travel and Tourism and Business Management sectors. Since that time, the college has become one of the leading higher educational institutions in the region; offering a variety of qualifications in postgraduate, undergraduate and vocational awards. Professional training courses in Flight Dispatcher and Air Transport Pilot are also available. The college is an approved centre for Aviation English Testing by the GCAA and is licensed by both the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the UAE Civil Aviation Authority.
