EMAL increases Emirati employees by 43% in 2010

Taweelah based aluminium smelter, Emirates Aluminium (EMAL), is kicking off 2011 plans to expand on its Emirati workforce with the company’s third participation at Tawdheef 2011, in Abu Dhabi – a major recruitment show focusing on recruitment and Emiratisation. 

An active Emiratisation programme is already underway and gaining strong momentum at the smelter. EMAL increased the number of Emiratis employed at the smelter by 43% percent in 2010, bringing the total number of UAE nationals up to now represent 14 percent of the total workforce.

Every success, from reaching full production ahead of schedule, to supporting the community, to investing in the talented Emirati workforce of tomorrow, is a step forward towards EMAL’s commitment to 2030.” 

One of the largest industrials projects outside the oil and gas industry, EMAL recently announced the commencement of full production of its Phase One smelter, and engages heavily in creating opportunities for the UAE. With a focus on ensuring it meets the full production targets set, EMAL will use Tawdheef to recruit qualified mechanical, electrical and chemical engineers. 

Multiple initiatives are currently underway at the company; including a raft of pre-employment courses, graduate trainee programs, as well as a second intake of scholarship submissions for young Emiratis. 

Tawdheef 2011 is being held at ADNEC – the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, Hall no. 4, from 25^th – 27^th of January.
