A hilarious joke spray-painted on a demolished home in South Dakota is making its rounds all over the internet.

The words 'Got the Spider!' were painted onto the roof of the torn down home in Renner.

According to Argus Leader, the home's former owners, Jeff Hopkins, 51, and his girlfriend, Dawn Cronk, 49, had some fun after tearing down their second home.

Once they had the perfect joke, they drove to Walmart and bought a bottle of spray paint to write it on the home's roof.

'I didn't think anybody would really notice,' Hopkins told the news outlet.'We did it just to make us laugh,' he added.

But their joke did more than just make them laugh.

The joke has made more than 57,000 people laugh after a stranger took a photo of the home and shared it on Facebook.

Since the couple demolished the home, dozens of people have stopped to take a look at it and snap a photo.

Hopkins and Cronk thought the joke would be hilarious, recalling the moment Hopkins' adult son once punched a hole in the wall trying to kill a spider.
