ALBAWABA Ground cracks have emerged in Libya, specifically in "Al-Sbeea" , located south of the capital city, Tripoli.
These cracks, of significant length and depth, have garnered attention after videos showcasing their unusual appearance circulated on social media platforms.
Concerns have been raised regarding the potential for an earthquake, drawing parallels to a similar event that occurred in Morocco the previous year.
Notably, these ground cracks manifested without any preceding seismic activity or faults. In response to the situation, the Libyan government has launched an investigation to ascertain the root causes of this phenomenon.
Authorities aim to not only understand the origin of the cracks but also to identify any additional occurrences in regions beyond "Al-Sbeea."

Reports from Libyan sources indicate that a geological team from the Ministry of Local Governance has conducted surveys of the newly discovered cracks, focusing particularly on those found within agricultural areas.
Meanwhile, the Libyan Ministry of Environment has taken steps to monitor the situation closely. A team from the Environmental Affairs Monitoring Department in "Al-Sbeea" has been tasked with overseeing the ground cracks observed on farms within the municipality.
Their objective is to compile a comprehensive report on the situation and submit it to the relevant authorities within the ministry. This report will aid in determining the causes and potential risks associated with the phenomenon.
