ALBAWABA - Turkey recorded 33,077 aftershocks following the devastating February earthquake in the southern state of Kahramanmaraş, Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) announced.

According to AFAD, the aftershocks occurred from Feb.6 to May 6. The authority is still monitoring seismic activity in and around Turkey around-the-clock.

On Feb.6, 2023, two earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 struck southern Turkey and northern Syria.

The two earthquakes resulted in thousands of deaths and injuries. They caused massive damage to infrastructure, streets and buildings.
