ALBAWABA - The Northwestern African Kingdom of Morocco now offers a special way to allow more people to learn about the country through "Ma3lama".

There are many places in the world that are worth seeing and learning more about, and Morocco is surely one of them, and now, the new Moroccan encyclopedia offers people the chance to learn more about Morocco and the world with "Ma3lama" (Which is a way to refer to the word "Mua'lima", which is the Arabic word for Teacher)

The launch of "Ma3lama"

The website was officially launched in June 2022 by researchers with the goal of providing knowledge and scientific content on the Internet based on solid sources and references. Its goal is to provide visitors with documented and updated knowledge about Morocco, its local society, culture, and its rich civilization, while also giving facts about various historical, cultural, civilizational, geographical, human, social, and economic aspects.

Omar Mazwadi, the founder of the encyclopedia and a member of its supervision team, said that "Ma3lama" came about as an idea mainly due to the lack of significant details surrounding Moroccan cultural out there. Mazwadi said that "Ma3lama" aims towards raising Morocco's popularity on the Internet.

At a time when misinformation is spreading everywhere, and researchers are fearing that people are following sources that are inaccurate, "Ma3lama" bears the slogan "Your window to reliable knowledge".

Omar Mizwadi said that what's circulating on the net is "unscientific and unreliable" and that's why "Ma3lama" is needed.

The website aims to be simple and easy to both understand and use while providing detailed information presented under the following categories: books and literature, the history of Morocco, the religious field, intellectual and cultural figures, culture and arts, and cities and metropolises.

Before any information is published on "Ma3lama", it will be reviewed by a team of researchers who will be citing sources to confirm its authenticity. The founder hopes "Ma3lama" will somehow be a source of inspiration for people to read more.

According to those in charge of it, "Ma3lama" aims to enrich Arabic Moroccan content on the Internet, and to introduce Morocco and its society in its various aspects to the reader in Arabic.

According to its definition page, "Ma3lama" aims to "provide solid, documented, and comprehensive knowledge about the Moroccan genius in its various historical, cultural, civilizational, geographical, social, and economic aspects".

It also hopes to encourage researchers, writers, and bloggers to introduce the civilization and culture of Morocco. Mezwadi hopes that it will become the platform that people resort to with any questions related to Morocco and that it will be easily accessible.
