Saudi channel to teach Arabic language to non-native speakers

ALBAWABA - A new channel on YouTube by the name of "حاتم الطائي" has gained a following days after its launch. This channel is part of a free Saudi educational project set on teaching the Arabic language to the children of Arab immigrants and non-Arabic speakers.

The channel offers carefully prepared video clips created by Arabic language specialists, to guide children through the journey of learning Arabic. Starting from the basics of letters and progressing to the usage of sentences, reading, and writing Arabic, the channel aims to make the learning process engaging and enjoyable.

The channel's animated video recounts the captivating story of Hatem Al-Ta’i, a renowned Arab knight and poet who gained fame around 1500 years ago.

King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language, which was established in Riyadh in 2020, manages the channel. This institution oversees various initiatives to support the Arabic language, enhancing the channel's popularity among its target audience.

The channel primarily targets children aged 5-12 years, including both Arab immigrants and non-Arab speaking children. Its main objectives include building and developing an educational platform for children while providing them with a high-quality Arabic language learning experience.

Through its content, the channel helps children develop phonetic awareness of Arabic texts, familiarizes them with commonly used vocabulary, and teaches them the skills necessary for expressing their needs, feelings, and desires.

Moreover, the channel focuses on teaching children the types and structure of Arabic sentences, in hopes of expanding their creativity and passion for Arabic texts, expanding their vocabulary, and improving their listening, speaking, understanding, and reading capabilities. The channel aims to cultivate a rich Arabic cultural background within the children it caters to.
