ALBAWABA - Ariel the dog who is named after one of Disney's princesses from The Little Mermaid, made an appearance on the BBC for her unusual case of having six limbs.

The two legs are infused with each other and resemble a mermaid's tail hence why the Greenacres Rescue which resides in the United Kingdom was inspired by the name Ariel. The dog underwent a surgical operation to remove the extra limb at the Langford Vets Small Animal Referral Hospital in Somerset on Thursday Ja. 18,  2024, according to the BBC.

Meet Ariel - A dog with 6 limbs who has just undergone surgery

Mr Lawlor who works at the hospital said:

"There were two procedures which lasted about two hours, but both went fine, "The next day she was up, walking around and eating and drinking."

"Now we just need to keep our fingers crossed she doesn't get any infections, but she really is in the best hands."

He then added that he wishes Ariel the dog a speedy recovery to make her way back to her foster family in West Wales, and after weeks of physiotherapy and patience from the fosters, they will look into finding Ariel a forever home!

Moreover, the doggy has gotten support from all over the world including New York and Australia through emails, phone calls, and more.
