A Virginia woman who bought Powerball tickets from two different states ended up winning $50,000 from each ticket.
The 55-year-old Springfield woman told Maryland Lottery officials she bought tickets from both Maryland and her home state for the July 27 drawing, and she accidentally used the same numbers for both tickets.
The woman said she didn't realize she had purchased identical tickets from both states until she checked them after the drawing and realized they were both $50,000 winners.

She said the happy accident led to her calling her husband twice with good news.
"I called him again and I said, 'You are never going to believe this,'" the woman said.
The woman's husband said the news was a lot to accept.
"She called me with the news twice and I didn't believe her either time," he joked.
The couple said they plan to use the money for home improvement projects.
