ALBAWABA - A group of snorkelers and kayakers recently caught a very rare fish nicknamed the "doomsday fish" while on a trip in La Jolla, California, according to Fox News.
Some claim that the 12-foot deep sea creature (oarfish) surfaces when something catastrophic like an earthquake occurs. Moreover, two days after its appearance, Los Angeles was struck with a 4.6-magnitude earthquake causing panic locally.
Fox also reported that only 20 oarfish were spotted since 1901 according to the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California, San Diego.

Many users claim on social media that animals can predict future natural disasters. For example, a video circulated online of a dog barking continuously in the streets of Turkey in hopes of warning locals of the catastrophic 2023 earthquake that hit both the country and Syria.
On the other hand, the International Fund for Animal Welfare said that there hasn't been any scientific evidence about animals predicting future natural disasters:
It said, "Some animals can detect the vibrations of an earthquake a few seconds before it occurs, thanks to their keen senses—but not a few hours or days."

According to Al Hurra News, the doomsday fish was found dead floating on the sea surface when a bunch of snorkelers found it and took pictures of it which swarmed social media later.
One user on the official Fox News website jokingly wrote, "The cataclysmic event isn't an earthquake or tsunami. It's foreshadowing life under Kamala," referring to the US being run by current Vice President and presidential elect Kamala Harris.
