Minister of International Cooperation, Rania Al-Mashat published Discovery’s first promotional video for the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) on her social media accounts on Saturday.
Discovery is one of the world’s leading content networks with more than 7 billion monthly video views across 220 countries while this video is the first segment created for GEM campaign, Al-Mashat who previously served as Minister of Tourism from January 2018 to December 2019, said.
This campaign is part of the Egypt Tourism: The Holistic Marketing Ecosystem communications plan launched in September 2019; which includes broadcast pieces on Egyptian cultural heritage and leisure destinations, adapted specifically for travelers across the US, Europe, Japan, China & India, Al-Mashat added.
The Ministry of International Cooperation has played a monumental role in mobilizing Official development Assistance (ODA) loans in 2008 and 2018 from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA); allocated to the museum and exhibition construction, information and communication infrastructure and consulting services, Al-Mashat mentioned.
“We look forward to opening this historical destination’s door to everyone around the world this year,” Al-Mashat said.
For his part, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Khaled Al-Anany said on 30 January 2020 that the opening ceremony of GEM planned by end of 2020, will be a legendary one, asserting that many state presidents and kings will attend.
