A 19-year-old Emirati committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his house in Sharjah. The teenager ended his life because he "feared the consequences of performing poorly in his exams," a police official has said.
The incident was reported in Al Suyoh area early on Monday. A team of officials from the criminal investigation department (CID) and forensic department, and paramedics were dispatched to the site.
The team removed the body and shifted it to the forensic laboratory for an autopsy.
Initial investigations and interrogations revealed that the boy had appeared for an exam last week, and feared he would perform poorly. The police are still continuing their investigation.
