Secretive British street artist Banksy plans to recycle materials from his satirical anti-theme park Dismaland in a refugee camp near the French port of Calais.

"Coming soon... Dismaland Calais," said a final message on the website of the pop-up "bemusement park," which closed on Sunday after a five-week run in the British seaside resort of Weston-super-Mare.

"All the timber and fixtures from Dismaland are being sent to the 'jungle' refugee camp near Calais to build shelters," it said.

Dismaland featured a burnt fairytale castle, dozens of artworks and installations by Banksy and other artists, and evening events with DJs, comedians and bands including Russian political rockers Pussy Riot.
