A Saudi who had mysteriously disappeared in Pakistan 22 years ago has finally been found by officials of the Saudi Consulate in Karachi.

The consulate had conducted intensive search operations across the Sindh province to locate the lost man after receiving information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the time. He was finally traced living in an old people’s home run by a woman of Maltese origin in Karachi.

Abdullah Al-Tuwaijri was found in good health and has been put up at a lodging by authorities until a family member flies into the country to take him back home, Faleh Al-Rehaily, the Kingdom’s consul-general in Karachi, told a local newspaper.

Al-Tuwaijri’s family had lost any hope of finding him after initial search operations had failed.
The ambassador said he personally contacted the governor and security officials in Sindh and the prime minister, as well as civil society organizations and charities in the region.

The authorities searched prisons and every possible facility in Karachi, a city with a population of 25 million. Al-Tuwaijri’s brother had provided an extensive description of his sibling.

Al-Rehaily thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and the deputy foreign minister for their directives to find him. Al-Tuwaijri had been imprisoned in Balochistan for failing to be in possession of identification documents until his release. It was then that he had approached the old people’s home.
