A video featuring an Egyptian youth, Mahmoud Abdo, known in local media as the "dancer on crutches," went viral on social media after he managed to participate in the Keke challenge on one foot.

His friends praised his courage in defying his handicap by dancing beside the car on one foot.

Others, however, criticized him for encouraging people to violate traffic regulations and disregard warnings by police.

On his Facebook page, Abdo, a law graduate from Ain Shams University replied to his critics and wrote: “The Keke dance video aims at motivating people with special needs not to succumb to disability and frustration.”

Abdo had previously gained fame in Egypt after dancing with his crutches to celebrate Mohamad Salah’s goal that qualified the Egyptian national football team to the World Cup.

The young man defied his disability and amputated leg, celebrating with euphoric fans by dancing on his crutches.
