A woman in China got a shock of her life when she realised that the popsicle she bought had a frozen rat in it.
The horrifying incident happened when the woman took a bite of the red popsicle and noticed a hairy tail inside.
According to Shanghaiist reports in NDTV, the woman initially thought the frozen tail-like thing emerging from her ice-cream bar was a caterpillar. She then asked her friend to have a look who confirmed that it was instead big dead rat buried in her candy.
The woman video recorded the sickening experience which shows the rodent stuck tight in the popsicle. The reports added that the woman went back to the candy store and demanded monetary compensation. First, the shop owner offered her dozens of popsicles as compensation but when she did not budge, the man offered her cash starting with 800 yuan ($126) to 2,000 yuan ($315).
However, the woman demanded 50,000 yuan ($7,893) as compensation but after a local regulatory authority intervened, the woman was told she can only claim a maximum of 1,000 yuan ($157) as compensation in a case like this.
In a similar incident last year, a man in Mexico claimed to have found a dead rat in his cold drink and captured the stomach-churning moment on video which went viral online.
Again in September last year, a student alleged to have found a dead mouse in food served in India's IIIT-Delhi hostel mess.
