Dubai Police holds a presentation on HIV at Al Bustan Centre and Residence
Al Bustan Centre and Residence - a deluxe property which offers world-class services and facilities in the city, recently hosted a Dubai Police event on HIV awareness. The event took place at Al Nahda Banquet hall and around 50 persons from the management and staff of Al Bustan Centre and Residence attended the presentation.
Moussa El Hayek, Chief Operating Officer Al Bustan Centre & Residence, said: "This conference was designed to increase the knowledge of our staff on various aspects of HIV and preventive measures. The lecture and interactive case presentation by Dubai Police proved to be very fruitful and was supplemented by take-home materials. We hope this presentation will help all the staff meet their professional needs."
The purpose of hosting such a presentation at the property was to inform the staff about the latest techniques and technologies being employed by the Government of Dubai to reach young and at-risk population. The presentation also talked at length about how public health workers can use social media and how the government is trying to remove obstacles that new communication tools present.
The Dubai Police official informed that according to their data there is a greater need for massive improvements in education, prevention and treatment of the disease in the country and commended the efforts of the property in hosting such an event. He also stressed that though UAE has a conservative society, however it is essential to openly discuss sexual health issues with one's doctor and get proper treatment.
