As the equine industry in the UAE enters its busiest period of the year with a jam-packed calendar of world class horse racing, international show jumping and high profile polo tournaments, the one event that draws thousands of visitors every year from all walks of horse-related life is the annual Dubai International Horse Fair.

Taking place from 17 - 19 March 2011 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, the event showcases the widest range of international equine products, services, equipment and technology for horse owners, breeders and equine professionals in the Middle East.

Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAEMinister of Finance, the Dubai International Horse Fair has developed into a core international event, supporting a thriving equine industry in the UAE and wider Middle East, including the Dubai World Cup which is held just after the exhibition.

Now in its 7th year, this year's show incorporates almost everything pertaining to horses and the equine industry, from supplier presentations and demonstrations, riding classes, pony rides, a fashion show for horse and rider and an equestrian art exhibition.

Four out of five exhibitors come from overseas, including strong representations from Canada, Germany, India, Ireland, Luxembourg and the United States. Dubai International Horse Fair is widely recognised by the equine industry as the must-see event in a region with strong traditional roots in horsemanship and a rich history in sporting equestrian excellence.

"Dubai's facilities and developments make it a natural choice for the most important trade arena and meeting place for horse enthusiasts," said Abdulla Qassem, Board Member - Higher Organising Committee of Dubai International Horse Fair and Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship. "The event brings together the industry's leading companies and professionals from around the world, who recognise the opportunities for growth in this region."

In line with the developments in the Middle East equine industry, Dubai International Horse Fair will showcase a wide range of products and services from leading international and local companies including Jaapharm Canada, Stable Force Trading and Walsh Harness and Saddlery. Around 200 exhibitors from 35 countries will participate in the event, with many new companies including innoHorse and Royal Wood Shavings.

Completing the display of equestrian products are live demonstrations in the Dubai International Horse Fair Riding Arena including dressage, show jumping, riding classes, falcon displays as well as competitions, supplier seminars, pony rides and the second equestrian fashion show for horse and rider. There are also exclusive show discounts available on all displays and equipment from equine care to transportation.
