DHA to capitalise on positive regional outlook as growth in government healthcare investment continues

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) today held an exclusive presentation for senior healthcare executives and decision-makers who attended the Middle East's foremost hospital build and construction event, the 3rd Hospital Build Middle East Exhibition & Congress, to hear about the DHA’s plans for hospital construction over the next 5 years.
The presentation was led by Engineer Saeed Ali Al Shamsi, Director of Technical Operations at the DHA, and gave insight into the DHA’s upcoming healthcare projects as well as information on what the strategic health authority of the Emirate of Dubai are looking for in their potential project partners.
Eng. Al Shamsi said, “Our plans include several projects which aim to cover the healthcare needs of the growing population of the Emirate of Dubai. The projects are planned keeping in mind a host of factors such as the healthcare requirements of the population, as well as geographical and strategic considerations that are vital when planning a hospital project. Some of the projects which we have recently completed and inaugurated are the Nadd al Hamar and Al Mizher Health Centers, while ongoing projects include the Al Jalila Children's Specialty Hospital, a tertiary and quaternary highly specialised hospital dedicated to pediatric and child healthcare; the Al Maktoum Emergency & Trauma Center, which will provide state-of-the-art trauma and emergency care to the population living in the Jebel Ali area and new Dubai; and the Al Barsha Primary Health Clinic, which is dedicated to the service of the local community.”
With regards to the DHA’s preferred project partners, Eng. Al Shamsi said: “Our project partners should have a long history of experience and success in building healthcare projects. This should be demonstrated through previous achievements that meet international standards and practices, and incorporate the latest improvements and innovations in the field. By ensuring that our projects are accomplished according to the highest standards, we can make sure that we fulfill our promise to better serve our community.”
“Working closely with the DHA over the years, we have managed to establish the Hospital Build Middle East Exhibition & Congress as one of the preferred platforms for the healthcare business in the region,” said Simon Page, Managing Director, Life Sciences, IIR Middle East. “Having the knowledge to succeed in today’s complex healthcare environment is an essential requirement from our exhibitors and delegates and having exclusive access to strategic government plans will go a long way towards achieving these goals.”
Eng. Al Shamsi said: “Our main objective was to highlight the Dubai Health Authority's projects in terms of building hospitals and health centres of the highest international standard. We consider the Hospital Build Exhibition to be an ideal platform to showcase the latest developments and projects currently being conducted by DHA.”
The Hospital Build Middle East Exhibition & Congress, held at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Center, ends today at 5.00pm.
