Deadly attacks in northern Iraq, western Iraq, and the capital have left nine people dead Monday, AFP reports.
The violence comes as electoral authorities count ballots from last week’s election. The election has caused a spike in attacks in recent weeks, and Sunni-Shiite sectarian violence is mostly to blame for the increase in violence in Iraq in the past year.
According to AFP, shelling in various parts of Fallujah killed four people and wounded another.
Also on Monday, two men were shot dead in Baghdad and a car bomb in Tuz Khurmatu killed at least three soldiers.
Over 3,000 people have been killed this year in Iraq and thousands displaced.
