The Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED) and Emirates Post have signed an agreement to facilitate payment of new, renewed and amended trade license fees through Emirates Post's multiple outlets across Dubai.

This initiative is part of the efforts to enhance productivity, ensure added-value service to clients and strengthen the economic competitiveness of Dubai. As per the agreement, Emirates Post will present to DED a weekly detailed report covering all details and procedures during the week.

Mr Khalid Al Kassim, Deputy Director General for Executive Affairs, DED, and Mr Abdullah Mohammad Alashram, CEO of Emirates Post, signed the agreement. Officials from DED and Emirates Post attended the signing ceremony held, recently, at DED headquarters in Deira.

"The agreement is in line with the ongoing efforts of government institutions to achieve Dubai’s strategic goals and the leadership’s vision of promoting sustainable development in the Emirate. It will also provide customers with high quality services that save time, enhance procedures and facilitate the faster and easier payment of trade license fees," said Mr Khalid Al Kassim.

"The Co-operation agreement with Emirates Post, which has vast experience and expertise in supporting business growth initiatives, will contribute to enhancing customer services and further ease procedures by activating online technologies to maximise customer service standards,” added Al Kassim.

Mr Alashram said: "With this agreement with DED, Emirates Post has further widened the bouquet of non-postal services offered at post offices, adhering to standards of quality and excellence. This agreement will allow collection of fees for business licenses through over 37 branches of Emirates Post, located in the Emirate of Dubai."

"In addition to the Department of Economic Development, Emirates Post plans similar agreements with federal and local government departments, offering diversified services through its offices. This is in keeping with the goal of Emirates Post to become a one-stop shop for a variety of services," added Alashram.
