Friday December 10th was the closing night for the Third Annual Amman Stand-Up Comedy Festival held on Al-Hussein Cultural Center stage in cooperation with MBC Group. The Festival kicked off on the fourth of December with the participation of local and international comedians.

Closing night witnessed unique and sarcastic performances by Omid Djalili, Dean Edwards, Sherry Davey, Mo Amer, and Dean Obiedallah where the audience was highly interactive.

Festival nights included scenes of cynical improvised comedy performed in both Arabic and English, with subjects inspired from the everyday real life situations.

International comedians participated in the comedy festival, such as Gabriel Igleisias, Larry Omaha, Edwin San Juan, Omid Djalili, Sherry Davey, Mo Amer, Dean Obiedullah, Aron Khader, Mohammad Salem, Mo'taz Atallah, Ola Roshdy, Mina Demian in addition to the Jordanian artist Nabeel sawalha. As each night paraded a different theme, "Gabriel and his Friends", "Arabic Nights", "Night of Laughter", "Jordanian Talents Night", and "Closing Nights".

In light of promoting local talents, the Festival dedicated a comedic night for performance by young Jordanians, who were chosen during an audition held prior to the festival.

Alongside the Festival many training workshops were held to elevate the young Jordanian talents participating in the Festival and provide them with the necessary experience to improve their performance.

In the closing night, participating international comedians presented sarcastic comedic sketches revealing the real goal behind live comedy which needs specific talents and standards in the performer. The audience interacted with the performance since it expressed their cultural, political, and social life.

Throughout the festival nights, participants succeeded in presenting performances filled with dialogue and body language where more than 500 daily attending spectators expressed their joy and admiration and continuous applause.

Furthermore, performers presented sketches based on various daily habits from around the world, such as smoking ban law in public places, driving habits and demeanor, marriage, and internet and facebook as well.

It worth mentioning that live comedy presents various subjects entertaining the audience and releasing them from the stresses and routine of everyday life.

Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) decided to make the Stand-Up Comedy Festival an annual event to boost the cross cultural communication in addition to sustaining the cultural movement in Amman and placing it on the international map and as a stepping stones for live comedy in the Middlt East.

It is important to note that the Festival is held in cooperation with MBC Group the Main partner, and sponsored by Royal Jordanian as the platinum sponsor, Grand Hayatt Amman, and Comprehensive Multiple Transport Company as gold sponsors, Al-Abdali project as the silver sponsor, Zain, Advize Grey and Events AVP as the bronze sponsors..
