German trade fair and conference organiser Epoc Messe Frankfurt, today launched new trade shows, Paperworld and Playworld Middle East, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The exhibitions will run until this Wednesday, March 9th.

Chairman of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Abdul Rahman Saif Al Ghurair inaugurated the exhibitions, which have attracted an encouraging response from the industry both regionally and internationally. Mr. Al Ghurair, who later toured the exhibitions and interacted with exhibitors and trade visitors, was accompanied by senior business leaders and government officials.

Co-located to capitalise on common synergies and provide ease of access for trade visitors, Paperworld Middle East, brings the world of office and paper products to buyers, key influencers and decision makers around the region while Playworld Middle East seeks to leverage the potential of the region’s market for toys, games and children’s lifestyle products.

“We decided to launch these trade shows after conducting considerable research into the market. Our findings indicated the latent potential that exists in these sectors in the region,” said Ahmed Pauwels, Chief Executive Officer of Epoc Messe Frankfurt. “We  have high expectations for these events and are confident that they will be well met within their respective industries,” he added.

“I am very impressed with the turnout for Paperworld and the potential the show holds for the future,” said Peter Bracken, CEO of Gulf Greetings, agents for Hallmark in the GCC and major exhibitors at the show. In the Middle East for over 30 years, Hallmark have been promoting their product range through Brand House.

Also very happy with the exhibition was Rasheed Al Katoob, Managing Director of Dubai Library Distributors, who have been taking part in various Epoc Messe Frankfurt exhibitions over the past five years. The company has been a leading supplier and manufacturer of school and office supplies in the region for over four decades.

“I expect Paperworld to be a big success,” said Farook Rahimtulla, President, Farook International Stationery, who are regular exhibitors at Paperworld’s parent event in Frankfurt. The company is the biggest manufacturer, wholesaler and supplier of office supplies and stationery in the Gulf.

Speaking from the very busy Pelikan Middle East stand, Nasser Al Atrash said: “We feel the exhibition has huge potential in the Middle East. We look forward to the event becoming even more representative of the industry in the future.” Pelikan Middle East has been doing business in the region for more than 50 years.

Both exhibitions reflect the latest trends and developments in their sectors with a marked emphasis on eco-friendly products and sustainability. Sustainably produced paper products, recycled paper, current health & safety standards for toys & games and recycling of print cartridges are all expected to attract strong interest from trade visitors.

Paperworld Middle East’s range of products includes office supplies; school articles; gift articles; greeting cards and calendars; wrapping; office paper and films and household paper products.

Playworld Middle East will feature the latest trends and developments in toys and games; baby, infant and pre-school products; bicycles and sports equipment; models and electronics; dolls, plush toys, dolls’ clothing and accessories and play houses apart from other children’s lifestyle products.
