CDA to register community associations at Dubai Indian Consulate

The Social Regulatory and Licensing dept at the Community Development Authority (CDA) will organise an outreach programme at the Indian Consulate in Dubai, aimed at registering the social clubs and associations affiliated to the Indian Community Welfare Committee (ICWC). 

The outreach programme is part of CDA’s initiatives to develop a basic framework for social and community organisations in Dubai and help them enhance the quality, efficiency and value of their services. Through such initiatives CDA aims to initiate an exchange of ideas and knowledge with community organisations and encourage them to benefit from CDA’s extensive resources by registering with the Social Regulatory and Licensing dept. CDA has invested in a range of welfare programmes for different sections of the society, including ‘Al Kayt’, an initiative to facilitate employment for people with disabilities. 

The outreach programme will be held at the Consulate premises from Feb. 23 to 28, with officials from the Social Regulatory and Licensing dept briefing participants on the vision and objectives of CDA. 

As a government authority entrusted with the task of strengthening social cohesion in Dubai and establishing channels for communication and co-ordination with community clubs and associations, CDA regularly organizes programmes aimed to empower communities and enable them to play a greater role in the development of Dubai. 

The Indian Community Welfare Committee, operating under the Indian Consulate in Dubai, is responsible for around 60 social clubs and associations. 

“Promoting strong bonds of mutual respect and co-operation among the culturally diverse society in Dubai is a priority outlined by CDA. CDA’s endeavors are hence focused on bringing together communities and fostering a sense of collective responsibility among them,” said Dr Omar Al Muthanna, CEO, Social Regulatory and Licensing dept, CDA.

“We invite social organisations representing the Indian community in Dubai to come forward, learn more about the vision of CDA and use the free registration facility to regularly interact with CDA and be part its transformational initiatives,” added Dr Al Muthanna.

It is worth mentioning that the Social Regulatory and Licensing dept of CDA which is the organizer of this registration event is concerned with regulating and licensing social organisations operating in Dubai, in addition to managing a well-developed system that ensures social welfare and quality services.
