Yemen Airways has taken delivery of the second of three new Boeing 737-800 airplanes as part of a fleet renewal and market expansion program that began with delivery of its first new 737-800 last May through a long-term lease agreement with International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC).

Yemenia is using these advanced 737-800s to expand service to markets throughout the Middle East and Gulf States region, Europe and Asia. A third of these high-tech airplanes will be delivered to Yemenia in September 2002.

The new 737-800s are part of the most technologically advanced family of commercial airplanes in the single-aisle market. With the lowest operating costs in the market, these airplanes have become the favorite for medium range and transcontinental routes for a growing number of airlines in the region and the world. — (menareport.com)
