Yemen’s 2002 budget approved

The Yemeni parliament has recently approved the general budget for 2002 with 482 billion Yemeni Rials in revenues, a YR 5.8 billion fall compared with the previous budget, which is equivalent to 1.2 percent, reported Al-Hayat . Total spending in the new budget is estimated at YR 532 billion, a YR 2.9 billion rise compared with 2001 general budget, which is equivalent to six percent. Yemen’s new budget deficit for 2002 is fixed at 43 billion Yemeni Rials which is equivalent to 2.6 percent of the GDP. — (menareport.com)
