The Saudi industrial city of Yanbu is scheduled to host a conference titled “Horizons of Investments in Saudi Arabia in the 21st Century”, which will be held November 12-14, 2000. The city of Yanbu is located on the Arab Gulf, north west of Dammam.

Along with its twin city of Jubail, Yanbu constitutes a unique experiment in urban development, planned to provide an efficient industrial environment. The two city complexes were created specifically to develop Saudi Arabia’s hydrocarbon-based industries.

The Saudi government is actively encouraging the investment in these industries, as a way of reducing the kingdom’s dependence on crude oil revenues and as a means of provided added value for its natural resources.– (Albawaba-MEBG)
