Plans for the world’s first rotating residential tower were recently revealed by the building's developer, Dubai Property Ring. The 30-story tower will slowly spin using collected solar energy, giving its residents a 360 degree view of their surroundings in the heart of Dubai’s iconic City of Arabia development.

Construction of Time Residences is expected to begin in June next year with projected completion in the first quarter of 2009, according to Arab News.

“We didn’t want to build just another building or tower, we wanted to create something unique--a precious place to live--a genuine contender to be one of the great buildings in the world," said Tav Singh, director of Dubai Property Ring.

The 80,000-ton tower is set to house 200 unique apartments, including a choice of one to four-bedroom, single story apartments replete with the latest in design and technology. Several exclusive duplex penthouses and the signature five-bedroom “T” Triplex Super Penthouse will also be available.
