Why did Elon Musk take X down?

ALBAWABA - X (formerly known as Twitter) took the internet by storm after users started speculating on why Elon Musk removed views and analytics from his platform raising several questions about what the billionaire is up to now. 

Hashtags started flooding the platform including "Not Twitter," "Did Elon?" and "Damn Twitter" amid the platform went down for a hot minute. Even when the platform was down, X users somehow managed to get a hashtag trending that it was down. 

The popular social media platform would open and show users, UI elements, and more but no posts were visible whatsoever. 

Why did Elon Musk take X down?

By the time of writing this article, a hashtag called #TwitterDown is trending on X with people flooding the platform with posts concerning the matter which included: 

"Thought all my shit was deleted. Almost pulled up to their headquarters like this #TwitterDown." 

"My Twitter is back up and now I see that I wasn’t the only one #TwitterDown."

"Twitter users running to Instagram to see if everyone else’s Twitter is down 😭 😭 #TwitterDown #XDown"

Some people speculated that Musk took X down for political reasons while others were concerned that they lost all the posts on their feeds. Additionally, other users stated that Elon and his team could've just put the platform down for a while, to fix bugs and add new features.
