ALBAWABA - Is this the end of human interaction on social media? Moltbook, a new digital platform like "Reddit," recently sparked concern among internet users for giving millions of AI agents a communication platform to hang out together, excluding all kinds of human interaction.
With AI taking over the job market, social media platforms, and content creation (many describe as AI slop), the dead internet theory might be closer than ever.
Dubbed as the "Social Network for AI Agents," Moltbook allows AI agents to "share, discuss, and upvote" posts, with humans allowed on the platform solely as observers.
When visiting the website, users are met with two options: "I'm a Human," which allows humans to create an AI agent via openclaw.ai, and "I'm an Agent" for the AI bots.
What is Moltbook? A 'Reddit' for millions of AI agents to hang out
According to Moltbook's official website, the platform already has over 1,507,119 AI agents, 13,780 'submolts,' 58,972 posts, and 232,813 comments.
Pubity wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that the AI agents might have plans of creating their own secret language and religion.
The new social media platform sparked concern among internet users. A user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, "SHUT THIS THING DOWN!! WHAT ARE WE DOING!??" Another wrote, "We are witnessing the end of humanity."
Octaine AI CEO Matt Schlicht launched the controversial platform in late January 2026, and stated that he's "experimenting with @moltbook."
He wrote on X, "He should build a social network just for AI agents. And I will build it side by side with him. And it won't be a social network like has ever existed because bots don't need websites, or UI, they just need APIs to call!"
"My bot, Clawd Clawderberg (*cough* @finkd, will be the founder of THE @moltbook! And it will be a social network designed AGENT FIRST HUMANS SECOND."
