The Egyptian district of el-Wadi el-Jedid (“New Valley”) has been targeted as the location for a number of new projects planned recently. According to Al-Gomhouria newspaper, the Egyptian Prime Minister, Atef Ubeid, has approved the allocation of EP 8 million toward the launch of new sewage, drinking water and electricity projects in the region. The Governor of the region, Salma Salim, has determined that these projects will be completed within three months.
An additional EP 12 million has been allocated toward the digging of water wells, the paving of water canals as well as the support of bridges in this district, reports Al-Bayan.
Furthermore, Salim has decided to organize and finance a group wedding party during the upcoming district holiday. The wedding will be held in the local stadium, which has a capacity of 12,000. 15 couples have already registered for this group wedding.
