Wacom strengthens market presence in the Middle East

Wacom Europe GmbH, the leading manufacturer of pen tablets, interactive pen displays and intuitive interface devices, today announced that it has signed a distribution contract with Dubai based Despec Mera Ltd to cover the Middle East region.
 
According to this agreement, Despec Mera will distribute Wacom’s full range of products, including accessories through their committed distribution network. In addition, it will provide sales, logistics and marketing support.

 

“We needed a distribution partner with an already established sales channel and a committed Middle East network to strengthen the Wacom presence in the region” said Andreas Küsters, General Sales Manager CEMEA at Wacom Europe GmbH. “Despec Mera’s distribution, sales and logistical experience combined with state-of-the-art warehouse facilities that would secure us instant availability, cost effective logistics and fast time to market were an excellent match for Wacom. We very much look forward to working with Despec across our business.”

Wacom Europe GmbH also today announces the appointment of Abdul Gorashi as Channel Development Manager for the Middle East. By ensuring a strong management team is in place to provide a high standard of service alongside the new distributor, Wacom demonstrates its commitment to the Middle East marketplace.

 

Taking the helm of the UAE team, Abdul brings with him a wealth of experience, having spent the last seven years serving as McAfee’s Channel Account manager. Prior to this, Abdul was an Account Manager at Intel Corporation (1998 – 2001). In his new role, Abdul will work with the new distributor, Despec Mera, and will be responsible for developing Wacom’s sales channels for consumer, professional and vertical pen tablet and interactive pen display solutions.
