On the occasion of Volvo’s 75th anniversary the President of Volvo Car International, Bengt Ovlinger accompanied by a delegation that included Katarina Ohlsson Volvo’s Director of Finance and Graham Carmichael Regional Director for Volvo in the Arabian Gulf, concluded a two-day trip in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, announced Director of Zahid Tractor’s Truck and Vehicle Division Samir Shubaily.
This visit to the Kingdom, Volvo’s most strategic market in the region comes as part of Volvo’s new worldwide strategy. The Swedish company recently announced an investment of five billion dollars over the next five years to boost its worldwide production capacity by 50 percent through new model expansion.
Commenting on his visit and subsequent business discussions at Zahid Tractor, Volvo’s sole importer in the Kingdom for more than 20 years, Ovlinger said, “My visit comes as part of our commemoration of Volvo’s 75th anniversary to further enhance our relations with our business partners in the region. Also, as our largest dealership and one of most successful business partner, we are ready to take our relationship to the next step.”
Ovlinger added, “A number of important initiatives have been agreed upon during our discussions to create further awareness on Volvo and build its brand equity. Saudi Arabia will definitely be part of Volvo’s new wave of excitement, which will include the launch of new programs and products in the next few years.”
The Volvo President’s visit culminated with a tour of Jeddah beginning Darat Safiya Binzagr, one of the Kingdom’s leading artist exhibition center, which portrays the history and heritage of Jeddah. The delegation continued to Balad and visited Souk Alalwi and Naseef House, which are one of Jeddah’s oldest landmarks. — (menareport.com)
