Saudi banking sources estimated at SR 195 million the volume of foreign currency purchases by Saudis for travel purposes last April compared with SR 244 million in march, SR 249 million in February and SR 315 million in January, according to Al-Watan newspaper.
Meanwhile, the volume of foreign currency purchases by non-Saudis for travel purposes declined to SR 2.2 billion in the first third of 2006, down from SR 2.81 billion in the same period last year, a 21.8% withdrawal.
