Visa appoints NBAD's Head of Domestic Banking to its CEMEA Board

In April 2002, an election was held for national representatives to the Visa Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEMEA) board of directors. The results of the voting included the election of Khamis Buharoon, Head of the Domestic Banking Division of National Bank of Abu Dhabi, as the United Arab Emirates (UAE)'s representative to the Visa CEMEA board of directors. 

 

Visa CEMEA is one of six regional operating organizations that make up Visa International. The Visa CEMEA board comprises Malcolm Williamson, President of Visa International, Anne Cobb, President of Visa CEMEA and 15 elected representatives from member banks from across the region. Elections are held once every two years.  

 

Buharoon was reelected with the support of the Visa UAE member banks to the Board. The Head of Domestic Banking at NBAD said he was very pleased to have the opportunity to participate in the activity of such an important international organization.  

 

Anne–L. Cobb, chairman of the Visa CEMEA board of directors and President of Visa CEMEA, stated: “The directors of the Visa CEMEA board play a crucial role in ensuring that Visa achieves its goal of providing appropriate and top quality support to its member banks.
