The US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) awarded a $350,000 grant to US-based Arctec to perform a feasibility study regarding environmentally sustainable wastewater practices in Egypt's Sadat City.
According to a USTDA press release, the study and pilot activities will test the ability of Arctec's technology to remove toxic metals and pathogens and will conduct a total treatment system analysis for establishing a self-sustainable wastewater treatment approach in Sadat City and its potential for replication at other sites.
Improved wastewater treatment will help Egyptian agriculture and the environment by increasing the abundance of Egyptian cash crops and creating tree biomass to capture carbon dioxide. — (menareport.com)
