The United States Trade and Development Agency (TDA) and the government of Jordan entered into a grant agreement to fund a study on the development of a communication navigation surveillance air traffic management (CNS/ATM) plan, stated a press release.
TDA will provide the Government of Jordan a $350,020 grant to select and contract with a US aviation-consulting firm to assist the Jordan Civil Aviation Authority (JCAA) with its airspace modernization planning.
The existing regional airspace employs widely varying technology systems operating independently in Lebanon, Israel-Mediterranean, northern Saudi Arabia and Syria. A modernized CNS/ATM system in Jordan is critical for the establishment of an integrated and efficient Middle East regional airspace system, which the region currently lacks. Such a system will help to ensure harmonization of the entire Middle East Airspace Corridor.
The TDA promotes American private sector participation by helping US companies pursue business opportunities in developing and middle income countries. In addition, the agency promotes capacity building initiatives and supports U.S. government trade, economic policy and development objectives around the world. — (menareport.com)
