US Special Presidential Envoy James Baker will travel to Japan, South Korea and China on December 27-30 to discuss reduction of Iraq's official debt. Baker will meet with the leaders of Japan and then South Korea on December 29 and China on December 30, reported Washington File

Baker met with European leaders last week to discuss Iraq’s $120 billion foreign debt burden. After his visit the White House announced that “the US, France and Germany "agree that there should be substantial debt reduction for Iraq in the Paris Club in 2004, and will work closely with each other and with other countries to achieve this objective.” — (menareport.com)
