United Networks announced today that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Burgan Bank. Under the agreement, United Networks will conduct studies for improving the overall IT infrastructure and infrastructure management within the bank. The review will ensure that Burgan Bank's IT services are measured against international standards.
The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Mahmoud Al-Sanea, Managing Director, United Networks, Mr. Peter Sherman, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Burgan Bank and Mr. Simon L. Clements, Senior General Manager, Operations Group, Burgan Bank.
Mr. Al-Sanea said, "We are very pleased to cooperate with Burgan Bank, a leading banking institution. This represents excellent cooperation between members of the KIPCO Group to which we all belong."
Al-Sanea added, "United Networks is the first company that is conducting such studies. United Networks has the most modern means of communications technology, information technology and the management experience and expertise to conduct such studies."
Mr. Khaled Samy, United Networks' Project Manager, said, "These studies include the ways and solutions that are used to manage the IT department and compare it to the modern management technique known as ITIL. It represents the best practices for IT service management and will provide the best infrastructure for telecommunications technology provided by United Networks."
He added, "The implementation of this study will help Burgan Bank to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of its IT service management as well as implementing any changes in the infrastructure. It will also contribute to enhancing services that are provided to the bank's customers whilst ensuring the role of IT will be more aligned with the business objectives of the bank."
