ALBAWABA - Reports from Kiev suggest that Ukraine is claiming Russia is using Elon Musk's Starlink satellite internet service in the areas it occupies.

According to Ukrainian military intelligence, Russian forces are alleged to be utilizing Starlink terminals provided by SpaceX for satellite internet connectivity.

The accusation came from Andriy Yusov, spokesperson for Ukraine's Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate.

It is claimed that Russian units near Klishchiivka and Andriivka towns are using these terminals, although there has been no official response from the Russian Defense Ministry regarding these claims.

Starlink representatives have denied any collaboration with the Russian government or military.

Understanding Starlink Satellites:

Developed by SpaceX, founded by Elon Musk, these satellites aim to bring internet access to areas with limited service. So, what exactly are Starlink satellites and what do they do?

Starlink is a project by SpaceX to create a network of satellites in space, helping to provide internet access to underserved parts of the world. The plan involves deploying thousands of small satellites that will work together with ground stations. Some of these satellites will be used for scientific exploration, while others may be sold to military organizations.

The goal is to complete the Starlink project by 2027, with SpaceX aiming to have a network of 12,000 satellites in orbit around the Earth
