ALBAWABA – Uber, the American multinational transportation company that provides ride-hailing services, courier services, food delivery, and freight transport announced the launch of its new service, 'Uber by Woman.' This service offers female drivers for women riders who prefer this option for added safety. Currently, it is only available in Paris, France.

According to the company, the new 'Uber by Woman' service is now available in Paris, France, with no additional fees. However, it may take longer for the app to find a ride for women requesting female drivers.
"Waiting times could be higher than with other options, 15 minutes on average compared to four minutes for a standard order,” Uber said in a statement.
It is worth noting that the company planned to launch this service in many cities in Europe due to the amount of sexual assault and harassment claims received against some of its drivers.

According to Agence France-Presse (AFP), the application will always display a reminder that the service is available only for female riders. Additionally, female drivers have the option to cancel if a male rider attempts to use it.
Laureline Serieys, Uber's head in France, said: “Uber by Women is an excellent way of increasing the attractiveness of the ride-hailing profession to women who would otherwise not consider it."
