The Dubai-based fashion distributor Midsports has unveiled plans to open three new concept stores dedicated to Turkey's Sarar brand in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The move has been sparked by the ongoing regional success of the Sarar brand of classic men’s wear, and for which Midsports holds exclusive Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) distribution rights, according to a company press release.

Dubai will have two of the stores, with a third in Sharjah. They are expected to be operational by September at a total investment of around 1.5 million Emirati dirhams ($408,000). "Since launching the brand into the GCC three years ago we have experienced around 40 percent yearly growth. The new stores are being launched to cater to the increasing demand," said Sanjay Pal, sales and marketing manager for the fashion division at Midsports LLC.

Midsports currently manages a network of 25 companies across the GCC, promoting Sarar. The company is in the process of signing another distributor agreement with a German label to meet the expanding men's casual wear market. "This segment is very much an untapped market. Even though the sector is tripling each year it is still under serviced. This new agreement will allow us to change this," explained Pal.

The German label has yet to hit the Middle East, but according to Midsports considerable investment will be made to meet expected demand. "We are still very much in the planning stage but expect to double our existing GCC network in the next 12 months or so," said Pal. — (menareport.com)
